Job Description
Job ID:
The Meyers
Primary Care Institute is a joint endeavor of the University of
Massachusetts Medical School, Fallon Community Health Plan, and
Reliant Medical Group with a mission to improve the health and
healthcare of populations through innovative research and
educational endeavors.
We are
recruiting candidates to join our research group; these positions
are intended at the full-time assistant or associate professor
levels. Candidates should have a Ph.D. or Sc.D. in epidemiology
or a related field, with sound methodological training and
advanced analytic skills. Successful candidates will have a
well-developed track record of scientific publications and a
currently active research program with a history of NIH, AHRQ,
PCORI, or other peer-reviewed funding, or strong evidence of
potential for obtaining independent external research funding.
New faculty members are expected to develop and lead a portfolio
of research focused on aspects of population health and/or health
care delivery. This may include substantive areas such as cancer,
cardiovascular diseases, chronic illness and aging. Previous
experience using electronic data sources, such as claims data and
information drawn from electronic medical records would be an
advantage. Our research structure requires that members of our
investigator team be flexible and interested in working both
independently and as part of collaborative, interdisciplinary
teams. Enjoyment of working productively and collaboratively in a
group setting is critical.
In addition,
faculty members in the Meyers Primary Care Institute are closely
linked to the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s
Department of Quantitative Health Sciences and clinical
departments, as well as research organizations participating in
the HMO Research Network. Our faculty members actively network
with these groups in developing research agendas and new faculty
will be encouraged to participate in these activities.
The Meyers
Primary Care Institute also contributes to the educational mission
of the University of Massachusetts Medical School through teaching
and mentoring medical and doctoral students and junior faculty.
Candidates should have demonstrated success in mentoring pre- and
post-doctoral fellows and junior faculty, and/or graduate level
teaching experience. The Meyers Primary Care Institute offers a
supportive and collaborative environment, and actively encourages
applications from women and minorities.
Candidates
should send a CV and statement of research interests to:
