The Department of
Epidemiology is accepting applications for two faculty members at
the Assistant Professor level in the School of Public Health.
These positions will have 12-month appointments. The successful
candidates should have a PhD in epidemiology or related field and
relevant research experience. UAB is an Equal

The successful
applicants should demonstrate knowledge and expertise in the
design and execution of epidemiologic research in the areas of
musculoskeletal and rheumatological disease and outcomes and
health services research; experience with conducting observational
research using data from governmental and/or commercial medical
insurance sources, prospective cohort studies and disease
registries and experience with conducting clinical trials; and
advanced skills in epidemiologic methods and applied statistical
analysis, excellent communication skills and demonstrable
potential for the successful development of major research
projects in the areas of osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis and
other autoimmune and musculoskeletal disorders.

School of Public Health has 93 full-time primary faculty and 486
