The Department of Preventive Medicine at Northwestern
University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time
tenure track Investigator at the rank of Assistant Professor.
The Department specifically seeks investigators prepared to
use population science techniques and tools to address one or
more of the following areas in aging research:

Association between chronic diseases (e.g, cardiovascular,
chronic kidney disease) and cognitive functioning |

♦ |
Demographic and psychosocial correlates of healthy aging |
|
| |
♦ |
Etiology of dementia or its risk factors in aging
population |

♦ |
Conducting etiologic and prognostic research relevant to
aging with integration of omics and imaging data |
|
| |
♦ |
The contribution of social factors (e.g, bereavement,
retirement) on chronic disease in aging populations |
|
| |
♦ |
Intervention studies tailored to older adult populations |
|
| |
♦ |
Health disparities in aging populations |
|
The Department has long-standing success in complementary
areas of epidemiology, biostatistics, bioinformatics,
nutrition, behavioral medicine and applied public health.
Multidisciplinary collaborations are encouraged.
Responsibilities include developing an independent research
program, collaborating with other faculty and contributing to
the educational mission of the institution by teaching courses
or mentoring pre- or post-doctoral students. Additional

full time position is based in the Feinberg School of Medicine
on the Chicago lakefront campus.
Qualified candidates will: hold a doctoral degree in
epidemiology, medicine, other disciplines of public health,
psychology or a related field with substantial experience in
population research studies; have demonstrated original
scholarship in aging; possess excellent written and
communication skills as evidenced by peer-reviewed
publications, grants, and presentations at professional
meetings; and demonstrate the potential to establish and
maintain external research funding.
