Tufts Department of Medicine seeks an innovative investigator
to lead the Program in Equity in Science and Health. The
research within the Program addresses a broad range of issues
focusing on systems interventions to address social
determinants of health, and structural determinants to promote
health equity and quality of health care by race, ethnicity,
sex and gender identity. Faculty in this multidisciplinary
program bring diverse expertise and backgrounds in primary
care, public health, infectious disease, pulmonary and
critical care, rheumatology, pediatrics, hospital medicine and
medical sociology.
Our ideal colleague has an established area of research or
methodologic focus, and a desire to serve as a mentor to early
stage investigators, growing a diverse and dynamic team of
investigators.
The Department and hospital provide a wealth of resources to
build a successful research team, including internal career
development awards and programs, and research infrastructure
through Tufts University's Clinical and Translational Science
Institute (CTSI). Our team has established collaborations
across all of the Tufts institutions, including the Schools of
Medicine, Graduate Biomedical Sciences, Nutrition, Dental
Medicine, Arts and Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine and
across multiple clinical and research organizations in the
greater Boston area. Tufts Medical Center sits in the heart of
urban Boston, and provides clinical care to a broad and
diverse group of patients from the multiple communities in
Boston.

Requirements
Candidates should have a PhD or/and an MD with additional
graduate training (e.g. MPH, MS, MBA, Post-Doc or fellowship
training) and a track record of externally funded healthcare
research in or related to healthcare innovation, healthcare
delivery science, implementation science, population health,
and impact of healthcare innovation on health equity. Those
with academic backgrounds such as public health, epidemiology,
medical sociology/anthropology are encouraged to apply.
