Applications are invited for a full-time behavioral
researcher at the level of Associate Professor/Professor
to head the new Division of Health Behavior Research and
Implementation Science in the Department of Epidemiology
and Population Health (DEPH) at the Albert Einstein
College of Medicine and to lead community outreach and
engagement (COE) efforts in the NCI-designated Albert
Einstein Cancer Center (AECC).
Albert Einstein College of Medicine is a leading research
institution with a strong commitment to addressing the
challenges and research opportunities inherent in the
provision of health care to the largely minority
population of the Bronx. Einstein is the medical school
for the Montefiore Health System (MHS). MHS is an
integrated healthcare delivery system comprised of four
advanced care hospitals, including a children's hospital;
more than 130 primary and specialty care locations; the
nation's largest school health program; and the oldest
hospital-based home care agency in the United States. The
DEPH is well recognized for its multi-disciplinary
programs in epidemiologic and prevention research, is the
major contributor to the Cancer Epidemiology, Prevention
and Control program of the AECC, and contributes to other
NIH-funded centers as well.
The successful candidate who fills this position will be
expected to: develop/maintain an independent health
behavior research/implementation science program; direct
AECC initiatives for examining and reducing cancer-related
disparities through outreach and engagement programming;
mentor division faculty; and teach medical and graduate
students. The position, which comes with a generous
start-up package including 3 years of full salary support,
research funds, and resources for the recruitment of
additional COE faculty and staff, will provide
opportunities for diverse research experiences and
collaboration in a highly collegial academic environment.
The successful candidate will have either a PhD in
behavioral research or equivalent, strong verbal and
written communication skills, relevant research and
teaching experience, a record of sustained peer-reviewed
funding, and an extensive record of peer-reviewed
publications.
