Position Summary
The Department of Epidemiology, Gillings School of Global
Public Health, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is
recruiting one full-time tenure-track faculty at the rank of
assistant professor focused on cardiovascular disease
epidemiology. Outstanding candidates will have expertise in
epidemiology, biology, etiology, prevention, and impact of
cardiovascular disease or its risk factors. Other areas of
interest include clinical epidemiology, outcomes research, and
implementation science as applied to cardiovascular disease.
UNC Department of Epidemiology
faculty are expected to develop and maintain an independently
funded research portfolios, serve as academic advisors to
doctoral and masters epidemiology students, and contribute to
classroom teaching in their discipline (e.g. cardiovascular
disease epidemiology).
Educational Requirements
PhD in Epidemiology or a
related field of study
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates for the rank of
Assistant Professor must demonstrate strong potential to
become an independent investigator, teacher, and mentor.
Future promotion to Associate Professor with tenure will
require a strong record of scholarship, including substantial
experience as a principal investigator and key collaborator on
epidemiology research, a funded research program, and a strong
record of teaching and mentoring graduate students.
