The School of Community Health Sciences (SCHS) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas is recruiting for one full-time, tenure track faculty position in Epidemiology at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates must have a solid methodological background in epidemiology, biostatistics or related field, excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring of undergraduate, Masters and PhD degree-seeking graduate students, and ability to collaborate with research investigators in community health, population based research and/or related fields of study. The research interests of the current Epidemiology and Biostatistics (EAB) faculty at SCHS range from chronic and infectious diseases, clinical trials, global health and health disparities research. Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in epidemiology, conduct scholarly work, as well as obtain extramural research grant funding. Expected teaching responsibilities will include introductory and advanced epidemiology, epidemiologic research methods, and advanced/graduate epidemiology elective courses in the candidate's area of expertise.


Candidates are required to have earned PhD in epidemiology, DrPH with a specialization in Epidemiology, or equivalent academic credentials from universities accredited by CEPH in the U.S. Preferred candidates will have demonstrated teaching ability, a strong record of independent and competitively funded research, scholarly publications, service in graduate student committees and/or community and professional organizations.


Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
