The Center for HIV/AIDS Educational Studies and Training (CHEST) of Hunter College of the City University of New York (CUNY), is hiring 1 full-time Research Post-Doctoral fellows in Epidemiology & Biostatistics. Commitments are flexible and typically last 1-2 years. Mentorship opportunities are available with all three of CHEST’s faculty—Dr. Jeffrey Parsons, Dr. Jonathon Rendina, and Dr. Tyrel Starks. CHEST ( is an internationally recognized multidisciplinary research center which blends academic and community-based work focused on sexual health, HIV/AIDS, LGBT issues, and substance use. As part of the City University of New York (CUNY) system, there are also opportunities for adjunct teaching. Positions have the opportunity to begin immediately, or in the next year. We are looking for individuals with a training and experience in using methods for research with large nationwide cohorts and population-based designs (e.g., weighting, complex sampling). The position will involve assisting with oversight and management of existing grant projects, supervision of staff, data analyses and manuscript writing, and grant writing. The fellow will be responsible for conducting complex multivariate analyses, and for supervision of more junior staff in statistical analysis and study design. Significant research experience (as evidenced by previous project management and peer-reviewed publications) and a demonstrated interest in HIV/AIDS, sexuality, LGBT, and/or substance use research are necessary along with a strong background in statistical analyses; expertise in multiple software packages (e.g., SPSS, SAS, Mplus) is highly desired. Opportunities exist for the development of independent research projects and grants, as well as integration into existing funded projects. We are looking for motivated junior researchers to become an integral part of our collaborative team.

Requirements: PhD/DPH or ABD in Epidemiology or Biostatistics. Studies on which the fellow might take a primary focus include UNITE, PLUS, Healthy Choices, and One Thousand Strong.
