The Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor specializing in epidemiologic methods including but not limited to novel study designs, the intersection of epidemiology and non-genetic big data, and causal inference.

Applicants should have a doctorate in epidemiology or a closely related terminal degree. Physicians with graduate-level training in epidemiology are also encouraged to apply.

The candidate appointed to this position will have primary training in epidemiological methods. A content focus in HIV/AIDS, related infections, and co-morbidities, a focus in pediatric epidemiology (specifically pre-, peri-, post- natal outcomes, obesity, neurodevelopment, and lower and upper respiratory), and/or focus in environmental exposures is highly desired. We seek an early- to mid-stage investigator who could develop a collaborative and dynamic research portfolio. Key attributes include a strong track record of publication, willingness to work as part of an interdisciplinary research team across departmental tracks, experience in teaching core epidemiological methods, and methodological expertise.

The candidate must be committed to advising graduate students, mentoring post-doctoral fellows, and service to the Department and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Relevant publications, early career grant funding, and classroom teaching and mentoring experience is desirable. Experience in multidisciplinary collaboration is a plus.

The Department of Epidemiology is one of the oldest and largest departments of epidemiology in the world, with over 170 doctoral and masterís students and post-doctoral fellows and a diverse research program directed by 100+ faculty.
