The Department of Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases (EMD) in the Yale School of Public Health is seeking to hire two full-time faculty at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor who conduct research in either of two areas of emphasis:

  • Field epidemiology or intervention studies.
  • Laboratory or genomics research that is applied to population-based studies and disease transmission.

Successful candidates will be expected to develop an independent research program, mentor MPH and PhD students, and teach at least one course at the masters/doctoral level.  Applicants should have a doctoral degree in epidemiology, medicine, veterinary medicine or a related field by the start of the appointment and evidence of a promising scholarly career, such as publications.

EMD has a long-standing mission in infectious disease research and training both globally and domestically, which includes the Fogarty Global Health Equity Scholars Program and training programs in seven countries, the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS, and US-focused CDC Emerging Infections Program.  Candidates can also take advantage of a concentration of expertise built in infectious disease modeling at EMD as well as a state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure that has an insectarium and core facilities.  Our T32 Training Program in Parasitology and Vector Biology, and Global Health Justice Program at the Schools of Public Health and Law are also strong assets.

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until successful candidates are identified.  Applicants are asked to submit a letter of interest, a research statement, a curriculum vitae and copies of three recent publications. The application should be submitted online at:
