The Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP) Department of Nutritional Sciences is inviting applications for a full-time faculty position in statistics/epidemiology.

SHP is one of eight schools that are part of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, the premier health sciences institution in New Jersey. The SHP Department of Nutritional Sciences houses the Rutgers Coordinated Program in Dietetics, the Dietetic Internship, the M.S. in Clinical Nutrition and the U.S.’s first Doctorate of Clinical Nutrition, all of which are well recognized for their innovation in nutrition and dietetics education and scholarship.

The Department of Nutritional Sciences has a growing research portfolio including NIH funded research in chronic kidney disease, a longitudinal worksite wellness clinical study, and a history of recognition for research and training in advanced level dietetics practice, oral health/disease, nutrition focused physical examination and dysphagia screening.  Our M.S. and Doctoral students conduct research studies as part of their degree requirements and, the faculty are involved in global scholarship and education initiatives. Rutgers is an internationally ranked and recognized University that is a member of the prestigious AAU and the Big Ten conference, and is celebrating its 250th anniversary. Through this faculty appointment, the department anticipates building on that strong history by increasing its capacity for excellence in research and teaching, and by aligning with the University’s Strategic Plan.

We seek to hire a faculty member with a doctoral degree in statistics, epidemiology or a related area.  The successful candidate will have a growing record of scholarship and research in epidemiology, quantitative and mixed methods research and experience in working with graduate student research. This full time faculty position may be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
