The Department of Clinical Sciences (DCS) at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University is seeking qualified candidates and candidate nominations for a Tenure Track Faculty Associate Professor or Professor in the area of Epidemiology.

The Department of Clinical Sciences faculty direct research and educational efforts focused on epidemiology, biostatistics, bioinformatics and health disparities in urban communities. The Department's educational program serves faculty, post-doctoral trainees and pre-doctoral professional students including those from medical, post-baccalaureate and physician assistant educational programs. The department is integrated with the overall basic, translational and clinical research programs at Temple University Health System.

Successful candidates will hold a Ph.D degree with demonstrated extensive experience in collaborative research and investigative team building, preferably in the areas of reproductive health including contraception and birth outcomes. Candidates are expected to make significant contributions to scholarship in the field, abstract extramural support, and expand partnerships within the university and the community. Experience in teaching graduate courses in epidemiologic methods, quantitative science and public health, as well as previous involvement in graduate education program development and implementation is required. Successful candidates will have experience in mentoring graduate students and junior faculty through the research process from concept development through peer-reviewed publication of study results and possess an established record of first and senior-authored publications in peer-reviewed journals. Demonstrated ability to secure federal funding is required. Academic appointment and competitive packages will be offered based on qualifications. Candidates with at least 5 years at the Associate Professor level are preferred.
