The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks an experienced researcher to serve as a Senior Research Investigator to provide scientific oversight in a research program that seeks to improve access to care and eliminate disparities. Methodologies used include case-control, retrospective and prospective cohort, and clinical trials using behavioral economics methods. Many studies use healthcare data leveraging the electronic medical records. This position will oversee the design, implementation, and dissemination of multi-site research projects concerning comparative effectiveness and health systems delivery research with a focus on the prevention and control of cancer and other chronic diseases. The candidate needs to be able to manage research projects collaboratively with clinicians and researchers, including international collaborators.

Applicants must have a PhD and 5 years to 7 years of experience. The ideal candidate should also have experience in the development of manuscripts and grants, as well as methodological experience needed to guide students and fellows. A background in epidemiology or in the applications of biostatistics is desired. There may be opportunities for teaching and possible adjunct faculty appointment based on experience and previous track record.

The position will work closely with Chyke A. Doubeni, Chair and The Presidential Professor of Family Medicine and Community Health, and also collaborate with other faculty in Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics, the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, the Center for Public Health Initiatives, and Abramson Cancer Center.
