Our 130 board-certified oncology physicians treat multiethnic patients from throughout New Mexico who have strikingly different patterns of cancer incidence, mortality and disparity. Supported by almost $60 million in annual research funding, our vibrant team of 130 population, basic, translational, and clinical investigators are focused on discovering the causes and cures for these cancers, with outstanding research programs in cancer control and disparities; cancer genetics and genomics with community and clinical translation; cancer cell and systems biology; and cancer drug discovery and targeted therapeutics.

Cancer Molecular or Genetic Epidemiology

Seeking scientists with interest and expertise in genomics and epigenetics relevant to cancer population science, assessment of gene-environment interactions, genetic ancestry and genetic risk assessment in complex multi-ethnic populations, molecular epidemiology laboratory methods, and assessing and overcoming cancer health disparities in New Mexicoís Hispanic and American Indian populations. Also seeking scientists with interest and expertise in translating science to those cancers which show significant disparities in our multiethnic populations: gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary cancers, renal cancers, breast and gynecologic malignancies, hematologic malignancies, and melanoma.
