Position Summary:
The Department of Epidemiology,
University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public
Health is seeking applicants for a tenured/tenure-track
Assistant/Associate Professor position in the field of injury
research. We are seeking outstanding individuals engaged in
epidemiologic research on injuries and/or injury prevention.
Faculty will enter a strong multidisciplinary university-wide
research environment that includes the Injury Prevention Research
Center and the Institute on Aging. She/he would be expected to
lead and collaborate on funded epidemiologic research relevant to
injury control. She/he will advise students and contribute to
teaching courses. As appropriate, the successful candidate might
assume a leadership role in the UNC Injury Prevention Research
Center.
Educational Requirements:
Doctoral degree in Epidemiology or
equivalent.
Qualifications and Experience:
Candidates for the rank of Associate
Professor must have a strong record of scholarship with experience
as a principal investigator and collaborator on funded injury
research. A candidate for the rank of Assistant Professor must
have strong potential to become a funded independent investigator
in the injury field. Commitment to research translation and
opportunities for prevention is a strength.
