Title: Postdoctoral Fellow - Epidemiology

Required/Preferred Education, Experience, Skills:
Applicants must have a doctoral degree in epidemiology, nutrition,
biostatistics or a related field. Candidates should have a strong
quantitative background, experience in programming and analysis of
epidemiological data using SAS, STATA or other packaged programs,
excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability
to work independently and with collaborators. Previous work in the
fields of nutrition and cancer, obesity, or cancer health
disparities is preferred.
Duties &
Responsibilities:
The position involves methodological and applied work in
epidemiologic research to identify biological, social,
environmental, and genetic factors that lead to an excess burden
of cancer among African Americans. Work will focus on
understanding the role of diet or its downstream consequences
(e.g., obesity, changes in the epigenome or microbiome, etc.) in
influencing cancer risk and cancer disparities. Opportunities
exist for designing and implementing epidemiologic research within
a large cohort study. Fellow will work closely with Dr. Lisa
Signorello and will have opportunities for close collaboration
with a multidisciplinary research team working on studies of
cancer epidemiology.
