Cancer Epidemiologist Faculty Positions
Department of Epidemiology, Greenebaum Cancer Center,
Institute of Human Virology,
University of Maryland School of Medicine
The Department
of Epidemiology and Preventative Medicine, School of Medicine,
University of Maryland seeks faculty scientists to join the
growing Division of Cancer Epidemiology. The Division with a
multidisciplinary research focus is recruiting faculty with
leadership manifested by productivity in publication and
successful grant funding. Faculty scientists with capacity to
collaboratively develop and implement epidemiological research
projects that integrate biomedical markers in the context of sound
study design and insightful quantitative analysis are positioned
to impact a vital and growing research enterprise. Recruitment
includes funding to promote faculty growth and reward
productivity. The Division has a particular interest in targeting
cancers that occur excessively in underserved minority populations
resulting in disparities in incidence and outcome. The West
Baltimore to West Africa Program exploits the University’s access
to patients with cancers from the underserved West Baltimore
population and Nigeria in West Africa where a well-supported
international program provides access to similar populations.
These resources support the potential for environmental,
nutritional, viral and genetic epidemiological studies. The
extensive basic and laboratory research capacity of the Greenebaum
Cancer Center, the Institute of Human Virology, and the Genomic
Research Institute at the University of Maryland School Of
Medicine provide fertile ground for collaborative research.
Candidates
with a PhD, MD and/or MD/PhD/MS (epidemiology, biostatistics) with
an interest in engaging in leadership development are encouraged
to apply at the Assistant, Associate and Professor level.
