The Department of Environmental Health, Division of
Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Cincinnati
Medical Center seeks candidates for a fully-funded postdoctoral
position in the area of molecular epidemiology. Applicants should
have a doctoral degree in epidemiology. An MD with academic
training in quantitative research (e.g., Master’s degree in
epidemiology or biostatistics) may be considered.
Prefer
experience with prospective epidemiology cohorts and strong
biologic background.
Successful candidates are expected to work on
several integrated molecular epidemiologic studies investigating
biomarkers of oxidative stress in the development of heart disease
and cancer. Candidates will also investigate these biomarkers in
relation to dietary and lifestyle factors.
Major
emphasis will be placed on leading original analyses and
manuscripts; the fellow will work large cohort data sets such as
the Nurses’ Health Study.
The postdoctoral fellow will participate in the planning,
designing, and data analysis of complex population-based research
projects. The fellow will
gain experience to
transition toward an independent research career. The
annual salary is above $35,000/year (conditional on experience).
