Job Description

Job ID:
  NSL00014X

At North Shore-LIJ, transforming care begins with empowering you to go as far as your talent and ambition can take you.  The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research is the research branch of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. Through its connection to the hospital system, the Institute bridges the gap between biomedical research and patient care, accessing hundreds of thousands of patients in the health system's 15 hospitals, four long-term care facilities, three trauma centers, six home health agencies and dozens of outpatient facilities. Institute scientists collaborate with clinicians throughout the system to shed light on basic biological processes underlying disease. This knowledge is used to develop new therapies and diagnostics.

We are currently seeking a Post Doctoral Research Trainee to join our team. In this role, you will perform investigative research under the mentorship of Assistant Investigator, Associate Investigator, or Investigator. You will publish and present data in a timely manner, collaboratively with other investigators to facilitate their scientific research and training and participate in various types of institute and community activities including applying for grant funding and/or patents as appropriate. Specialization and experience in Pediatric Health Research is required.

Our ideal candidate will have a Doctorate (M.D., D.O., or PhD.) degree and a Specialization in Pediatric Health Research.  Strong oral and written communications are required. Candidates with Authored/co-authored published articles and/or abstract preferred.

We stand at the threshold of an extraordinary time in medicine. Over the last 100 years, biomedical science has progressed very rapidly. Advances coming from the integration of genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics into the biomedical toolkit hold the promise that this transformation will continue well into the 21st century.

For more details or to apply online, please visit www.nslijcareers.com and search for requisition id NSL00014X. North Shore-LIJ is an equal opportunity employer. M/F/D/V
