The
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a highly regarded voluntary health
services agency, is seeking a Director of Epidemiology in the
National Headquarters office in Bethesda, Maryland. The Director
of Epidemiology will report to the Vice President of Clinical
Affairs and will collaborate in the development of an intramural
research program utilizing the CF Foundation Patient Registry.
The
CF Foundation Patient Registry is a comprehensive, longitudinal
database that collects information on prescribed therapies, key
medical outcomes, and health care utilization. The patient
registry holds information on over 26,000 cystic fibrosis patients
receiving care in one of over 110 CF Foundation accredited care
centers.
Responsibilities Include:
·
Collaborate in the development of an intramural research program
that utilizes the CF Foundation patient registry database.
·
Plan and direct studies using data from the patient registry,
including comparative effectiveness research and prospective
studies embedded in the registry.
·
Conduct and oversee analyses of registry data.
·
Work with CF Foundation leadership and external advisors to
identify research opportunities and prioritize research projects
using the registry and associated databases.
·
Develop and implement project plans and timelines for all registry
related research projects with a focus on publication in high
quality peer-reviewed journals.
·
Oversee the scientific review of registry data requests from
external investigators.
·
Develop protocols and analytical plans for industry-sponsored
post-marketing studies to be embedded within the patient registry.
·
Contribute to the planning and execution of annual registry
reports.
·
Work with the patient registry team to improve the quality of
patient registry data through improvements to data processing and
to registry data fields.
·
Manage all aspects of clinical projects to ensure that they may
meet their objectives while complying with regulatory rules and
guidelines
Qualifications:
·
PhD in Epidemiology with three years of experience OR PhD in
Statistics with extensive experience in working with observational
data.
·
Master’s level epidemiologists with extensive experience and a
track record of success will also be considered.
·
Experience with registries or other large observational data sets.
·
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·
Proficiency of statistical computing in SAS, R, or STATA.
